Jersey City Fiber Arts Get-Together
Register through Eventbrite to save your seat. This event is limited to 14 participants.
Meet your artistic neighbors for a Sunday afternoon fiber arts get-together. Knit, crochet, embroider, spin, sketch, write or otherwise get creative! Consider this a networking event and idea exchange - share your favorite project memories with your neighbor, give a tip on tech or even how you handled a yarn challenge as you chat. Let's have positive discussions to encourage one another as we work on our projects.
We welcome all who are interested in knit, crochet, needlework and creative expression, regardless of age, gender, orientation or skill level.
Interested in learning how to knit or crochet? Email Wendy Ann.
This is a free get-together, however, all participants are asked to purchase from the bakery (and leave a nice tip for good service!)
4 - 6 p.m., Prato Bakery, Jersey City, NJ

Good to know: There is no rain date, we will be in the Van Vorst Park Gazebo rain or shine. Van Vorst Park has a dog run, pretty landscaped gardens with plenty of benches and two children's playgrounds. The Park offers a farmer's market from 8 a.m. - 3 p.m., consider some shopping! The Jersey City Public Library across the street has great knitting books and public restrooms, (a library card can be obtained quickly with State ID or License and a utility bill or other mail which also gives access to plenty of online free content). There are two other great events taking place on the 8th: A Jazz Festival is a few blocks away in the Newark Avenue Pedestrian Mall and GO! Jersey City, a volunteer event for public service. It will be a great community day!!!
The JCKIP Art Project: Bring a knit, crochet or woven yarn square 4" wide to add to the fiber mosaic.
You can make one that afternoon as well, yarn and needles/hooks will be available for your use. The finished mural will be curated by WATERKNYT and details on exhibition placement will be released to all registered participants. Registration will take place when submitting squares.
If you stop in to drop off a square, please include contact information (name, email, optional: phone number.)
